WWF Nepal, the global conservation organization leading international efforts for a living planet, calls for following proposals:
Environment and Social impact assessment, development of ESMP and baseline collection in Khata and Basanta Corridor
A proposed two and a half year project aims to enhance viability and safe dispersal of tigers and their prey within the transboundary Khata-Basanta-Dudhwa (KBD) through securing functional connectivity of habitats/corridors, minimizing human-tiger conflict and poaching and improving community livelihoods. The project is to be implemented by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), including WWF Germany (lead executing agency), WWF India and WWF Nepal supported by IUCN’s Integrated Tiger Habitat Conservation Programme (ITHCP), funded by the German Cooperation via KfW Development Bank.
The technical team from WWF Nepal has conducted an initial threat assessment in terms of tiger connectivity and human wildlife conflict utilizing scientific approaches and participatory community consultations and have identified specific project implementation sites: 29 Community Forest User Groups (CFUGs) within 6 Community Forests Coordination Committees (CFCCs) located in 6 municipalities in Khata and Basanta Corridors. The environment and social impact assessment (ESIA) and baseline collection will be conducted in the targeted 29 CFUGs.
WWF Nepal is seeking the services of a consultancy team to conduct Environment and Social Impact Assessment, development of a comprehensive Environment and Social Management Plan to mitigate the impacts and baseline collection of project indicators.
Interested VAT registered firms in Nepal are requested to submit technical and financial proposals providing a detail breakdown of total budget in Nepali Rupees, electronically to: proposalsubmission@wwfnepal.org. Please mention email subject as - “Environment and Social impact assessment, ESMP and baseline collection” and submit the proposal by 5:00 PM December 26, 2024.
Further details can be accessed through the ToR which can be downloaded here.

TOR- Environment and social impact assessment in Khata and Basanta Corridor
Production of video on Greater Himalayan Transboundary Conservation Landscape
With 10,000 plant species, 977 bird species, and 300 mammals, the Eastern Himalayas comprised of Bhutan, North-eastern India, and the higher reach of Nepal is one of the ecologically most diverse regions in the world, owing to its extreme altitudinal variation which contributes to its rich biological diversity. This region is also home to millions of diverse communities whose livelihoods are intricately linked with nature. However, anthropogenic threats such as climate change, unsustainable tourism, and urbanization endanger both the ecosystems and the people who depend on them.
The Greater Himalayas Transboundary Conservation Landscape (GHTCL) Initiative aims to protect biodiversity, ensure zero extinction of species, and transition to a net-zero carbon economy. By fostering regional cooperation, addressing transboundary threats, and empowering local communities, the initiative seeks to secure the integrity of Eastern Himalayan ecosystems. In collaboration, the three WWF offices in the Eastern Himalayas region— WWF-Bhutan, WWF-India, and WWF-Nepal—aim to spearhead the GHTCL initiative and coordinate efforts towards regional cooperation and resource mobilization.
WWF Nepal is seeking the services of a consultant to create a 5 minute video about the initiative using provided footage and script.
Interested VAT registered firms are requested to submit technical and financial proposals providing a detail breakdown of total budget in Nepali rupees, electronically to: proposals-communications@wwfnepal.org. Please mention email subject as - “GHTCL video” and submit the proposal by 5:00 PM Nepal Standard Time, 19th December 2024.
